I arrange the majority of my still life paintings in a shadow box in my studio.  Occasionally, though, I like to set up the compositions elsewhere.  For this painting, it was the living room window overlooking my back yard.  I love the gentle quality of the northern light, and also the way the silver creamer captures the reflections of the living room itself as well as the exterior landscape.
