Two Creamers and Orange

Jeffrey Hayes: Two Creamers and Orange

"Two Creamers and Orange"

I've come to firmly believe that there is no such thing as an unimportant part of a painting. For my money, the real star of this piece is the backdrop cloth.

Well the interaction with the "subjects" make the fabric really pop and MOVE. It's an incredibly interesting design and composition. Hard to get this kind of complexity with the tiny ones. Great painting Jeff!

Dramatic and intricate! Each element is like an actor in a play, with the canvas being the stage.
