I love a challenge, and sometimes it's good to find how much of a full, active composition I can create on a very small surface. Keep in mind that this painting is about the size of a standard credit card.

I am totally in awe that your paintings are so small. What size brushes do you use? And your colors are beautiful. The black background really makes the colors pop! Beautiful Work!!!!
Beautiful composition, full but not busy. it is easy on the eye. I love these tiny paintings!
Very very nice. I've got a thing for saltshakers. You have given me my fix for a week. Thanks.
This is a great composition. Great use of color contrasts and balance. Taking thier size into account makes them even more impressive.
I love your use of color!!!Keep going...amazing paintings..

Wow! I haven't caught up with your work for awhile; you were awesome a year or so ago, you are phenomenal now! Your work just feeds my soul and makes my heart sing with joy. Sumptuous color, movement, elegant and brilliant composition, and every one of these "fragments" a treasure, as rare and ethereal as the finest Ancient Roman glass. Your work is brilliant, thank you for sharing it here on the blog.
Lovely composition.
Hi Kim - thanks. I generally use the smallest watercolor brushes available - yes, i work in oil, but it doesn't matter. Winsor & Newton has some really nice, durable small brushes.
Thanks Sharon!
thanks Bill/Lisa - yeah, saltshakers are just the perfect, modest subjects to paint
Thank you Brian
Thanks Jack
Well thank you TK - you're making me blush. It's funny you should say that - some of the bottles I use are very old, and have a lot of corrosion/patina on them - they've always reminded me of Roman glass.
Thanks Bill & Linda
Hi Jeff, I especially love this little gem, love the drama of dark/light.
I don’t know If I said it already but …I’m so glad I found this site…Keep up the good work I read a lot of blogs on No Prescription a daily basis and for the most part, people lack substance but, I just wanted to make a quick comment to say great blog. Thanks!
