Fragment: Bottleneck No. 5

Painting a day: Fragment: Bottleneck No. 5
"Fragment: Bottleneck No. 5"
Oil on panel, 2.5 x 3.5 inches

Sold

I seem to have a series within a series going with these bottleneck fragments. It was a lot of fun to try to paint the effect of corrosion on the right-hand bottle.

Simple but effective design and as always well executed.

Excellent work. I like the juxtaposition of the reflected light on the blue bottle vs. the matte effect on the other.

What a great "mood" you've put in this still life. It's even got attitude. I wouldn't normally expect that with cold, glass bottles. Great job!

Thanks Mark - the surface corrosion was the thing that most attracted me to that bottle.
