Three Apples

11" x 14"

With very few exceptions, all of the still lifes I've done over the past year have been 6x8 and smaller. It's a lot of fun to work with such a restricted dimension, but I've also been feeling the need to have some room to stretch. So here is the first in series of somewhat larger still lifes I have in mind. Last year I posted about the shadow box I'd constructed. This painting was obviously done using the box, but with a few modifications. I spent some time sealing it so no errant light could enter through cracks between the wood, and also fitted it out with a better light source. If I get really industrious, I might do another post on it sooner or later. On the other hand, maybe it's better to spend my time painting...
